Intrinsic Elements Psychotherapy
Healing rooted in the elements—somatic, holistic, and deeply restorative
Welcome fierce and tender being.
the process
Healing is an elemental process.
Within each of us, the elements of fire, earth, air, and water shape our inner world—our thoughts, emotions, body, and spirit. At Intrinsic Elements Psychotherapy, I help you explore these natural forces within yourself to find balance, healing, and connection.
Just as the elements are constantly shifting and interacting in nature, our internal landscape is always evolving. Therapy is a space to attune to these rhythms—tending the fire of passion and vitality, grounding in the stability of earth, flowing with the waters of emotion, and expanding into the clarity of air.
Healing is not just about understanding—
it’s about feeling, sensing, and embodying change.
If you are seeking therapy that engages not just your mind, but your body, emotions, and soul, you're in the right place.
my approach
I specialize in working with:
Relational trauma & attachment wounds
Nervous system regulation
Identity & self-exploration
Spiritual integration
Relationship dynamics
Healing happens in relationship—within ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. My approach is deeply experiential and relational, incorporating somatic healing practices, parts work (Gestalt-informed), and nervous system regulation. Rather than simply talking through challenges, we engage the wisdom of your body, uncover the stories you carry, and metabolize wounds on a deep, embodied level.
Rooted in both scientific and esoteric traditions, this work honors the complexity of your being. It is not about fixing what is broken, but about reclaiming lost parts of yourself, cultivating resilience, and expanding into a fuller expression of who you are.
about me
Hi, I’m Alexandra Winteraven, MA, LPC
I'm a queer, trans non-binary therapist committed to deep healing work. I have been studying and practicing somatic therapy, trauma, and attachment healing for over a decade. I hold a master’s degree in clinical counseling (2015) from the University of Northern Colorado and have been licensed since 2017 in the state of Oregon. I offer virtual therapy sessions for Oregon residents only.
Beyond my clinical training, my work is shaped by a deep commitment to bridging psychology and spirituality, body and mind. My practice is informed by years of study in somatics, neuroscience, depth psychology, and esoteric traditions. I approach healing as both an art and a science—grounded in research, intuition, and the lived experience of being human.
Sessions, Fees & Insurance
Sessions: 60 minutes (virtual)
Standard Rate: $190 per session
Sliding Scale: $130 – $190 (available for cash pay only)
Insurance: I am not in network with any insurance providers. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. A diagnosis is required for out-of-network claims. I partner with Thrizer , a service that simplifies the reimbursement process for out-of-network therapy.
Why Work with an Out-of-Network Provider?
More therapist options and specialized care – Choose a therapist based on expertise, approach, and philosophy rather than being limited by insurance networks.
Holistic and integrative approaches – Some therapeutic modalities, such as somatic therapy, depth psychology, and transpersonal work, may not be covered by insurance.
Deeper therapeutic work – Explore complex issues at your own pace without insurance requiring quick symptom resolution or documentation to prove ‘medical necessity’.
Less medicalization – Avoid being labeled with a diagnosis just to access care, which can sometimes impact insurance, employment, or other areas of life.
Relational continuity – Stay with the same therapist long-term without disruptions due to insurance changes, provider turnover, or network limitations.
Choice in session structure – Flexibility in scheduling, session length, and therapeutic modalities that may not fit within insurance-defined models.
Personalized care – Receive individualized support, contrasting the one-size-fits-all approach of many in-network providers.
Greater flexibility – More control over your care without insurance dictating session frequency, duration, or treatment approach.
Privacy and confidentiality – Insurance companies require a diagnosis and have the right to request treatment records; out-of-network care offers more privacy.
